MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA: GoConnect (ASX: GCN), a leading global communications company and the creator of Soundcheck.com.au; Cashmere Media Pty Ltd, owner of Australia's music news and information destination undercover.com.au and PLW Entertainment, the 360 degree artist management, development and production company, all based in Melbourne, Australia, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to merge their operations.

The combined businesses will create the largest independent entertainment company in Australia, with a global vision, providing a range of services and creating products targeting the consumer for the entertainment and advertising markets. The combined businesses will be able to leverage on the strengths and resources of the group in digital media to further enhance their competitiveness in the entertainment industry.

The merger will consolidate technology and technical development resources, intellectual properties including artists' rights, and substantial content copyrights, sales, marketing, promotions, existing entertainment industry relationships, and operations of the three businesses. The consolidation will make the new operations more cost-effective and primed for expansion in Australia, the U.S.A., China and other markets.

Already instantly recognisable from his Logie-nominated performance in Neighbours, Sam Clark's journey to fame began when a friend persuaded him to enter a competition for a role on Neighbours. A little doubtful, Sam decided to take his friend's advice and subsequently won! As a musician, Sam has had chart success with his debut single 'Broken', which is currently #1 on the ARIA Physical Charts. The "Hall of Fame" status is an acknowledgement of the level of popularity of a particular track. Tracks will be awarded a certificate of Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze depending on the number of times a particular tack is listened to. As a track moves up the rankings, a color-coded logo will announce its status. A track's status will be influenced by the number of times it has been listened to, so encourage all your friends and supporters to listen to the track too.

The Soundcheck.com.au Music Competition for 2009 is now live and accepting entries. The competition is designed to encourage unsigned artists/bands at all levels and across all genres to enter their music.

Each entry is eligible to win the ultimate prize of a professionally produced track, which will then be distributed nationally. In addition to the above, School based entries have the added opportunity of winning a $10,000 Music School Development Grant for their school.

Once voting commences each entry can be voted upon which dynamically changes their accumulated votes and overall rankings. The objective of each entry is to secure one of ten finalist positions at the Live Showcase.

The top 5 as voted by the public and a further 5 as voted by the judges will make their way to the Live Showcase.

The ultimate winner will be announced on the night receiving a professionally produced track of their entry which will then be released nationally.
